If you’re a motivated, ‘can do’ individual who’s prepared to get to grips with the nuts and bolts of day-to-day business while growing and developing with the brand, read on…

Crewroom is an established, female-led, performance sportswear brand, selling high-quality clothing to rowers and all those who lead an active life and love the outdoors – from grassroots through to elite athletes. We make innovative and attractive products, designed to protect and built for performance – it’s at the core of what we do. We’re also a brand that’s pivoted through the challenges of COVID, recently opening a new shop on the Lower Richmond Road in Putney.

We care about the way our products are made and our effect on the planet. And we care about the welfare of our customers, workmates and suppliers – the people who form the heart of the inclusive Crewroom spirit. We’ll ask for your ideas, listen to your opinions and value the contributions you make – we work together as a team.

We’re focused on developing a ‘customer first’ culture in everything we do, building on our reputation for producing high-quality and innovative products by offering outstanding service and leading the way with product development, while being agile enough to do things differently.

This is a great opportunity for someone to join a small team, challenge what we do and how we do it and work with the owners to take Crewroom to the next stage of its evolution.

The Crewroom sales channels include our Putney retail store, our online store, B2B wholesale and teamwear sales. As the Store Operations Manager, you’ll be our go-to person who looks after the nuts and bolts of running our store and sales channels, day-to-day – making sure things get done!

Everything from ensuring the store is fully stocked and looking ship-shape, to logistics planning for events, making sure team orders are placed on time and checking online orders are despatched from the warehouse form part of your role. You’ll also have active involvement in the recruitment of a part-time retail sales production assistant to support the development of shop activities.

Outside of your routine tasks, we want you to engage in the local community, rowing clubs and schools – making to most of the shop’s location to help drive sales. Developing an in-store engagement plan, arranging open evening events for team customers, and connecting with local sports clubs on custom team kit orders – these will all be part of your wider role and you’ll be rewarded well for sales growth.

You’ll be based in our Lower Richmond Road store (Putney} where you’ll work alongside our sales and design team. You’ll be expected to work approximately one Saturday in every three and some UK travel/weekend work may be required during the main event season, which typically runs from May to August.

You’re someone who enjoys working as part of a small, female-led team in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment and someone who relishes variety, always happy to get stuck in and muck in with the tasks on hand. You’re passionate about doing a good job, and getting things right the first time with an ability to handle challenges when they pop up.

You may be a recent graduate, or you may be from an event, project or coaching background, possibly within the retail or sports sector. Either way, character and the desire to learn are critical, as well as being IT literate.
