Global Running Day on 6th June 2018 was an international celebration of running that encourages everyone to get moving. It doesn’t matter how speedy you are or how far you travel, what’s important is that you get involved. We love the fact that so many dusted off the old trainers and got their running mojo on!
Only three years after its launch, Global Running Day 2018 saw over 161 countries take part by formally pledging their run distance and location on the Global Running Day website.
At Crewroom we’re privileged to have our own design hub smack bang on the banks of the River Thames so naturally we hit our local streets. Running along Putney Embankment with the knowledge that hundreds of thousands of runners spanning over 161 different counties were celebrating likewise was pretty spectacular, and quite frankly it would have been rude not to!
Crewroom specialises in technical running kit and year after year we’ve won awards in both Women’s Running and Men’s Running Magazine, so any excuse to get into our running kit is good enough for us.
We took advantage of Britain’s marvellous springtime, albeit a little cooler than hoped, and donned our most beloved running pieces. Amongst a sea of colours, there shone a Drizzle T-shirt in River Lights (Crewroom signature fabric illustrating the dazzling hues and movement of water). You couldn’t have chosen a better top for Global Running Day in the UK; it’s really light and airy, designed for the variable British climate with breathing and wicking properties. When the ever so slightest drizzle started to fall, the water repellent fabric protected the core from the elements.
Next, Crewroom shorts for all of us and we are off! If you don’t already know about our technical shorts then you are missing out on a runner’s secret weapon – designed from beautiful fabrics with the thoughtful details in mind from secure zip pockets to laser-cut detailing. We cannot help but brag about this seasons range of beautiful bottoms. All Crewroom running kit combines comfort, practicality and performance and certainly proves that being functional doesn't have to look dull.
Congratulations to everyone who took part, keep your eyes peeled on our social media to see how far we have all travelled together on this momentous day.
