The Crewroom team were back on the road last weekend and couldn’t be more excited to arrive at the 185th Durham Regatta. The event dates back to 1834, but its roots can be traced even further to 1815.
The Regatta grew out of an annual procession of boats that commemorated the Duke of Wellington’s victory at the battle of Waterloo so, being a British brand, understandably this event is close to our heart. The event was brilliantly organised and it was a pleasure to meet so many inspirational individuals, including a customer who was planning to run a 24 hour race the weekend after her Durham Regatta Race –very impressive!
460 races were completed over the two days with around two thousand competitors and 60 trophies presented. It was an excellent weekend all round with live music in the historic bandstand, a car rally and lots of great food stalls – a perfect celebration of the beautiful city of Durham and its river. Our team stayed in a quaint and quirky Airbnb, decked out in 60’s interior and were very thankful for the prosecco and chocolates left for us by the owners! Much needed after pitching up our Crewroom pop- up a stone’s throw from Durham Amateur Rowing Club.

The Fuel Short
Lightweight shorts made from fabric with four-way stretch for extra comfort and manoeuvrability. Perfect for whipping on and off, and comfortable over your race kit. Nice little features include rear zip pocket to secure your phone, card or keys. There’s a gusset panel to reduce chafing and a flat elasticated waistband with draw cord for the perfect fit.
