Last week was VIP night at our Northcote Road and Putney High Street stores where we invited along our Newsletter subscribers for an exclusive preview of our new Spring 2016 range. Store managers – Emily Carpenter and Tiina Mielonen – caught up with both new and regular customers whilst enjoying a few bubbles and nibbles. Last year we became official sponsor to the most exclusive VIP running squad taking part in the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon, Team Squirrel. The days are getting longer and there is definitely a spring in our step here at Crewroom with the arrival of our new season collection. Our SS16 range is inspired by crossing lines and pushing boundaries which are translated into bold and impactful designs. In a year which will see some of our nation’s finest athletes pushed to the limits to cross the line first at Rio, we’ve included some detailed prints with splashes of ‘carnival’ colours and products with segment colour blocking. Here’s a taster of what’s new this season… The Ribbing Vest, £32 This is a fitted vest with a flattering low neckline and racerback style. We've dropped the hemline for a bit of extra coverage, perfect if you're doing a HIIT workout. As always we've used a soft, wicking fabric for comfort in any activity. The Ribbing Short, £42 We've taken the tried and tested stretch jersey used in our leggings to create shorts which look and feel amazing. The fully opaque, non-pilling fabric is supportive without restriction and the ribbed wide waistband is a practical and flattering addition. You'll also find a rear mesh pocket to keep your valuables safe and your energy snacks to hand. The Cross-Over Tee, £36 A paneled running top made with our non-pilling fabric which means you can wash it time after time without losing the soft, supple feel of the fabric against your skin. The fabric will wick away the sweat and dry quickly leaving you to feel comfortable when you're putting in the miles. The reflective branding is a nice and functional touch. The Balance Short, £49 An all-rounder of a short with 7" inseam, you'll love these if you're tackling a trail or paddleboarding along the Thames. We've made these shorts with four-way stretch fabric so you can move with ease. The boardie style waistband uses adjustable drawcords for the perfect fit and we've designed in practical deep pockets and stylish laser cut detailing.

Each month our intrepid store managers, Emily and Tiina, have been testing out fitness sessions and classes in and around London to see what’s new and what works. This week, the fitness duo will be launching their very own HIIT class here at the Crewroom Hub on Putney Embankment. With a background in Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Science, Emily, our Putney Store Manager is joining forces with Tiina, Northcote Store Manager and Personal Trainer, to bring you a lean muscle workout with their high intensity interval training. The first session starts tonight at 7.15pm and will be held each Wednesday evening at the same time. The session will involve intense plyometrics to increase heart rate and fat burning followed by resistance circuits to build lean muscle. The first session is FREE so if you’re in the area, pop along and get your first ‘HIIT’ at no charge!

Adventurer and Crewroom Ambassador, Anna McNuff, has only been back from her epic NZ cross country run for a few months but she’s already got itchy feet and has just headed off on her next adventure to…who knows where! With her backpack and sleeping bag, Anna is currently heading towards Harwich to catch a ferry, European destination currently unknown. Instead of meticulously planning her trip as she’s always done she’s leaving it up to her social followers to decide where she ends up next. As Anna describe it, this is an “unplanned, unstructured, social media driven, flying-by-the-seat-of-my-pants adventure”. Her aim is that 90% of her journey will be human powered, mostly walking, with a spot of hitchhiking and a ferry ride – planes are out of the equation and will only be used to fly back at the end of her adventure which finishes on 13th March. In January we packed Anna off with a bag of new Crewroom kit. “The Shackleton Jacket is waiting in the closet for use on the adventure - for which it will be perfecto and snuggly,” Anna told us.
