The Crew Cut

This week we were really fortunate to chat to Channel 4’s SAS: Who Dares Wins finalist, and old friend of Crewroom, Carla Devlin #15.

Essential TV viewing has returned to our screens this January with Channel 4’s latest season of SAS: Who Dares Wins, where 25 recruits are pushed to their limits in a gruelling recreation of the SAS selection process.

On 21 February, The Muscat Marathon will take place with thousands of competitors from over 56 countries taking on the 42.2km route through Oman’s premier lifestyle destination.

On Saturday November 23rd, 480 crews will take to the water in an annual processional race on the tideway. With staggered starts the coxed fours, coxless fours and quadruple sculls are timed along the 4 1⁄4-mile (6.8 km) Championship Course from Mortlake to Putney in a race that attracts both senior and junior crews from clubs, universities and schools.

Next week, over 1,500 rowers will travel from all over the UK and from across the world to compete in the prestigious Henley Women’s Regatta. And, this year, we’re proud to announce that HWR has teamed up Crewroom to supply the official merchandise range.

This month we chat to the brains behind Crewroom – Kate Giles. As a former elite rower at Thames Rowing Club, it’s unsurprising that the tideway has played a huge part in Kate’s life and is the catalyst that launched Crewroom back in 2001… How did you discover rowing?
